| Biography |
| David Grosvenor was born in England in 1956. He graduated from Exeter University in 1977 and moved to North Wales in 1991. Since this time he has worked as a professional artist. He currently lives and paints near Porthmadog where he is surrounded by landscapes that inspire some of his paintings. He uses both oils and watercolours, and paints a variety of subjects, including atmospheric, sometimes magisterial Welsh landscapes. His paintings reflect the skilful and bold manipulation of his medium and the painterly use of rich and expressive colour. Since 1992 his work has been shown in a number of galleries with solo exhibitions in Wales and elsewhere, including Oriel Ynys Mon, Llangefni, The Albany Gallery, Cardiff and in Studio 35, near Toulouse. His most recent major solo exhibition was a complete sell out here at Ffin y Parc Gallery in September 2011. |
