Geraint Dodd - Gosodiad/Placement Starts 15th Jan 15.01.12 - 08.02.12 Geraint's work is a conversation with the landscape. An amalgamation of observation, subjective emotional response, history, and an exploration of Man's attempts to contain, describe and possess his environment. He is concerned not just with the landscape, but with the uses to which it has been put and the scars and traces we have left behind. Objects found discarded or buried - remnants of abandoned industry or habitation, are collected, deconstructed, and grafted back onto these landscapes, so that the pictures become layered records of the landscape's history. A kind of simultaneous map! All the time, the world is affecting us. It makes us feel, and think. It sustains us, changes us and eventually destroys us. But Geraint expresses how we too are changing the world, bending it to serve our purpose and then moving on...
